CES 2012: Mobee Power Bar for Apple’s Magic Trackpad
Apple’s Magic Trackpad may be, in fact, magical, but magic requires power, and that power comes at the expense of batteries. Single-use batteries need to be replaced, and rechargeable batteries need to be recharged, meaning you have to keep removing them either way. If this is becoming a hassle for you, Mobee Technology’s Power Bar may be the solution for you…you’ll just need to sit tight until early March to grab it.
Apple announces Black Friday 2011 specials
We’ve seen a few leaks this week on Apple’s annual one-day-only Black Friday sales event. The savings on Apple products were accurately slight, but as in years past, Apple is offering significant savings on compatible third-party products. Save over $100 on Bowers & Wilkins speaker docks and various laptop bags, and you can get fun accessories like the Parrot AR.Drone for under $250.00.
Targus Wireless Mouse for Mac review
I’m not ready to give up on the mouse by a long shot, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no room for innovation in electro-mechanical computer input. I mentioned rollerbars a moment ago, and I love them, but there are also advances in mouse technology that don’t involve gestures. One such is Targus Touch Scroll technology, which is used in their Targus for Mac Wireless Mouse.
Microsoft introduces its Lion-compatible Explorer Touch mouse
Microsoft has this week introduced its new series of mice, dubbed the Explorer Touch, capable of multitouch and priced at only $49.95 compared to Apple’s Magic Mouse (that shares quite a few similarities with the Explorer Touch) which goes for $19 more at $69. The new Explorer Touch has features similar to Microsoft’s other series of mice, the Arc Touch, with a touch strip for four-way (horizontal and vertical) scrolling, programmable buttons, and much more.
Whirl Ergonomic Pivoting Wireless Laser Mouse review
Thankfully, I’ve never had a problem with carpal tunnel, osteoarthritis, and other such issues that can affect my usage of a computer. But that doesn’t mean I don’t consider ergonomics when selecting my mouse. If you’re the same, you should take a look at Smartfish Technologies’ Whirl Desktop Laser Mouse. Amongst its ergonomic mouse peers, it’s certainly one of the most unique options available.
MagicWand review
Twelve South’s MagicWand is the kind of device you may need to look at for a few moments before you figure out if you need it. Let me speed that process along for you; you do. If you use Apple’s Wireless Keyboard and the Magic Trackpad, you do. If you haven’t yet been able to justify the purchase of the Magic Trackpad, this is it.
Mobee brings inductive charging to Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Trackpad
If you’re sick of replacing the batteries in your Apple Wireless Keyboard or Magic Trackpad, you’ll be happy to know that Mobee just announced another inductive charging solution for these devices called the Magic Bar. Very similar to its Magic Mouse inductive charger, this accessory will keep you from needing to replace those batteries all the time and instead recharge without removing them from the device.
Verbatim Mini Travel Nano Mouse review
Ah, the mouse. For now it is the best way to interact with your laptop or desktop computer. Getting a good mouse you can trust when on the go is important, whether you are making a big presentation or getting to level 85 in the World of Warcraft, and the Verbatim Nano Mouse is a good option. It is small enough to travel easily and slip into my purse, but big enough to keep from getting hand cramps during marathon sessions.
February 16, 2011, Macintosh product updates
Twelve South’s MagicWand could be the final push for you to buy that Magic Trackpad you’ve been wanting. You can then use them to control either of the retro photo filters available today: Vintage Scene and Lo-Fi. Other announcements worth mentioning are the Jisho Japanese/English translator, Bubble Breaker’s move to the Mac App Store, and a LinkOptimizer sale.
Swiftpoint Mouse a truly innovative advance in mouse design
Swiftpoint’s flagship product Swiftpoint Mouse that debuted last summer continues to receive accolade. The wireless Swiftpoint mouse is a different kind of mouse, providing all of the functions of a traditional mouse, but physically small enough to fit under the thumb for use in for constrained venues like planes, trains and cafes, either directly on the laptop’s palm rest or on alternative surfaces such as tabletops or even one’s knee.
