Mac OS X 10.5.8 released

As we near the release of Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6), the final updates for the current version of OS X will slowly start to trickle in. Today, Apple has made available Mac OS X 10.5.8, the 8th revision of the Leopard operating system. It is available through Apple’s website, as well as OS X’s Software Update.

New Leopard screenshots posted

Wired News managed to obtain a developers preview of Leopard, reporting that it installed quickly without problems on a quad-core Mac Pro. The interface was apparently very slick and smooth, giving the desktop a “space-age gloss”. Amazon.com has begun to take pre-orders for Mac OS 10.5 Leopard, scheduled to be released and shipped in October.
