CES 2012: iRig STOMP

irigstompguitar

IK Multimedia is back with a new version of their iRig guitar adapter for iDevices. This time they’ve taken the original iRig interface, added active battery-powered circuitry to reduce feedback and crosstalk and stuffed it all in an attractive aluminum stompbox. The stompbox also has a bypass button to use AmpliTube as an effects processor. There’s also an input gain knob to adjust the signal level precisely. The iRig STOMP will cost you $59.99 when it’s available in early Q2.

AmpliTube Fender for iOS review

IK Multimedia is back again with another solid iOS guitar app. This time, they’ve collaborated with Fender to give you some licensed gear with which to shape your guitar sound. Not only is it a new app, all of the gear is available as in app purchases in all flavors of AmpliTube for iOS. So, you don’t have to buy a new app if you already have AmpliTube and just want some new gear. Let’s take a look at what’s new.

AmpliTube 2 for iPad now available on the App Store

As promised, IK Multimedia’s version 2.0 update to AmpliTube for iPad is now available on the App Store. Version 2.0 provides many of the same new features as it’s little brother, AmpliTube 2 for iPhone, such as 5 new stomp boxes, multitrack recording, SpeedTrainer function, improved sound and more. Just like before, you still have one extra effect slot with the iPad version of the app, and now if you buy the Multi-track recorder with master effects, you get 8 channels with 2 send effects and two master effects per channel. The update is free to all current users.

Appletell reviews AmpliTube v2 for iPhone

It’s been a little over 4 months since AmpliTube for iPhone made its debut on the App Store. Since then, IK Multimedia has been hard at work implementing improvements for the next version of their guitar processing app. Now, the fruits of their labors are available on the App Store as a free update for all current app users. Much of the app remains unchanged, but a number of significant improvements have been made.

Appletell reviews AmpKit+ for iPhone

Guitarists have no doubt had some promising apps thus far on the App Store. Apps like AmpliTube for iPhone, PocketAmp, and iShred Live have given us hope for what is possible with guitar processing and amplification emulation. Now, Agile and Peavey have teamed up to produce what I consider the best and most versatile guitar app yet: AmpKit+.

Peavey AmpKit and AmpKit+ now rocking on the App Store

Peavey’s AmpKit and AmpKit+ are now available on the App Store. Both apps are guitar processing and modeling apps based on Peavey and other popular gear. The apps allow for use of a dozen or more effects at the same time, and can even record your wet and dry guitar signal to support re-amping should you later find a more appropriate setup.

iPad Appidemic: AmpliTube for iPad

IK Multimedia has done it again with their low cost, portable version of AmpliTube, this time for iPad. All you need is the iRig adapter, an iPad, and a guitar. This app simulates guitar effects and amps to help transform your sound any way you choose. AmpliTube for iPad has all the great features of the iPhone version, and then some.

Appletell reviews iRig adapter for iPhone, iPod touch

AmpliTube iRig is an instrument adapter specially designed for iDevices. It takes your guitar, bass or other 1/4 inch input and converts it to a format that is optimal for an iDevice line in. The iRig plugs you guitar into your iDevice’s headphone jack, and still allows you to connect your headphones. One side gets the instrument in, and the other has an output. But, as you might guess with an adapter that uses the headphone port instead of the dock connector, it’s not perfect.

Free Apps Roundup for June 18th, 2010

Wow, what a week for the App Store and Apple in general! Did you preorder an iPhone 4 successfully? I know I did, but I’ll still be camping out for the second line on the family plan. Thankfully, you’ll find tons of apps below. So whether you’re keeping your current iDevice, or upgrading to an iPhone 4, you’ll find plenty below to keep you occupied in a line or anywhere else.

IKMultimedia announces iRig and Amplitube for iPhone

Further proving that the iPhone is the most useful multifunction device you own, IKMultimedia has announced AmpliTube for iPhone along with iRig. iRig is a convenient way to plug your guitar and a pair of headphones into a standard iDevice headphone jack. Use that in conjunction with AmpliTube for iPhone and you’ll be ready to shred at any moment. You can also plug a pair of headphones into it or use it as a line out into an amp or other sound system.
