Appletell reviews Textopolis game for iPhone, iPod touch
The idea of Textopolis for iPhone and iPod touch is to use the letters of the city (level) that you are on to spell as many words as you can. There are a total of 30 cities available, and to get to the next city you must get at least 10% of all the possible words. The words must be at least four letters long. Let me say that I spell like a 4th grader, so the fact that you can use plurals is a great help for me. That also means I have not been able to advance to the harder cities in the game such as Ulyanovsk, or Saskatoon.
Appletell review: Guitarist for iPhone/iPod touch
Guitarist is an app developed by Moo Cow Music that attempts to be your on-the-go guitar. It’s not going to replace your real guitar, but it might help you seize the moment when creativity strikes.
Since the iPhone has multitouch, using it as a guitar simulator makes sense. There is one striking negative about this app, and I want to get it out right at the start. Since you’re only working with a piece of glass, there is no tactile feedback. It should be noted that this is not a problem with the app, but a limitation of the device itself. If you can get over this one point, then you’ll love this app.
Apple changes App Store review policy
As recently as yesterday, Apple made a much needed improvement to the App Store. The change is subtle, but necessary. Developers of non-free apps everywhere will rejoice when they hear that users are now required to actually own an app to be able to review it. I say non-free apps, because there really is nothing more »
Appletell Review – Comic Touch for iPhone/iPod touch
I must say that Comic Touch is a very unique application for the iPhone/iPod touch, and does a very good job at editing and adding comical effects to pictures directly on the iPhone or iPod touch. Comic Touch is a mixture of plasq’s two other apps for Mac OS X—Skitch and Comic Life—as it allows users to edit images with a variety of different effects, including Bulge, Dent, Squeeze, Stretch, and Light. It also offers the ability to add speech bubbles and captions to a photo to give it the feel of a comic.
