Apple announces Digital AV Adapter with HDMI output

At the iPad 2 event, Apple announced a Digital AV Adapter. It’s essentially an HDMI adapter for iPad 2 that enables 1080P video output of video files and, even better, screen mirroring. But wait, there’s more! This adapter works on more than just iPad 2. Yes, that’s right folks, the Digital AV Adapter works with iPad (1 and 2), iPhone 4 and iPod touch (4th generation).

2010 was indeed quite an extraordinary year for Apple, as is indicated by this video, simply entitled “Apple: 2010.” It’s a comprehensive slideshow showcasing some of the biggest news we saw come out of Cupertino, California this year. From the announcement of the iPad and unveiling of iOS 4 to software updates such as Aperture, the video starts in January and makes it’s way to December, giving dates and image from each of these announcements.

Apple introduces the new MacBook Pro

Apple has announced the refreshed MacBook Pro, and almost all of the rumors were spot on.

Here’s a breakdown of the features on the new MacBook Pro.

  • Precision aluminum unibody enclosure
  • Glass covered, LED backlit screen.
  • Dual GPUs. Both new NVIDIAs, one 9400M, and a 9600M GT.
  • Glass multitouch trackpad
  • Black keyboard
  • Mini Display Port connector capable of driving a 30 inch display
  • Firewire 800 port
  • .95 inches thin
  • 37% smaller packaging

Here’s hoping the September event fixes everything.

With the given that there will be a September Apple event, we can now turn to what that event might bring. Of course, everyone’s gone over the new stuff: new iPods, MacBook updates, and all that good stuff. However, we also should turn an eye to fixing what’s already out there. A whole lot is broken.
