Shazam database reaches 8 million songs
Due to new partnerships and exciting new material, Shazam has announced it has increased its music database from 6 million to 8 million items. With this number, Shazam now can search the widest range of music to allow its users to discover pre-release and specialist music. And with 20 million customers searching more than 100 million tracks (numbers as of September 2008), this addition of songs will be very welcome. Put simply, Shazam’s usefulness has quickly made it one of the most downloaded apps on Apple’s App Store (I’m sure the iPhone ads helped, also).
