How to make Mail.app actually delete Gmail emails
If you use Mail.app integrated with a bunch Gmail accounts, you may also be annoyed by the fact that Apple’s Mail.app does a poor job of handling Gmail’s labels in some cases. For instance, Gmail IMAP messages aren’t actually deleted, they’re stored in the “All Mail” folder along with everything else. Wouldn’t it be nice if deleted messages actually went into Gmail’s trash? They can, and I’ll explain how that’s done.
Interface changes coming to iCal, Mail in Mac OS X Lion
Whenever there’s an Apple media event, I find myself getting lost in the content and announcements and missing the details. Unfortunately for me, the details are often pretty interesting. Thankfully, there are always those crafty people who analyze every frame of Sir Jobso and the demoes he and other Apple executives present to fill us in. Most recently are some interesting interface changes in Mail.app and iCal.

If you’ve never accessed your account settings beyond Mac OS X’s initial set of questions, here’s what to do…
An Apple job offer and what it looks like
Setting aside the fact that this developer got a job offer from Apple, which is awesome in the first place, the manner in which the offer arrived is quite fascinating. The developer made sure to take some nice pictures of the iOffer before getting started on his paperwork. As with many of the things that come out of Apple’s headquarters in California, the job offer itself is extremely well put together. The outside is simply an Apple logo which just beckons the receiver to open it.
First look: ibisMail for iPhone – like Mail with performance enhancing drugs
ibisMail is one of a number of apps that want to replace Apple’s own Mail app for the iPhone. Usually in these other apps, you just get a very simplistic app for e-mail whose only real feature is landscape typing. What sets ibisMail apart is that it has a ton more features than Apple’s app. Really… take a look!
Offline Gmail for iPhone demoed at MWC… coming soon?
At MWC, Vic Gundotra, Google’s VP of engineering, demoed what many might think is heaven sent; offline Gmail (the web app) with, among other things, support for labels. Better yet, the technology doesn’t depend or even require you to jailbreak your iPhone. So, you won’t even have to get Apple’s panties all in a bundle to get it working.
