Apple’s beats Microsoft profits for first time in 20 years

For the first time in 20 years, Apple’s quarterly profits and revenues ($6 billion and $24.7 billion respectively) were greater than Microsoft’s ($5.2 billion and $16.4 billion, respectively). The reason for this is the decline in popularity of laptop and desktop computers, since Microsoft gets half of its profits from Windows licenses, as well as Bing recording a loss of $726 million.

Apple revenue grows by 71% in Q1 2011

With or without Steve Jobs, who is currently on medical leave, there seems to be no stopping Apple. The company reporting a very good first quarter in terms of revenue and earnings. And so, prior to the official live conference call on its Q1 2011 earnings report, Apple issued an official earnings statement. For the first quarter of its fiscal 2011, which ended last December 25, 2010, Apple posted a record revenue of $26.74 billion and record net quarterly profit of $6 billion. This puts the value of of Apple’s stocks per diluted share to $6.54.

Apple holds third quarter results call, reports record profits

Apple has announced their financial results for the third fiscal quarter of 2010. With the launch of the iPad and iPhone 4, Apple posted record numbers, with $15.7 billion in revenue and a net quarterly profit of $3.25 billion. One year ago, in the same quarter, Apple posted $9.73 billion in revenue and $1.83 billion in profit. It seems Apple, despite all the recent negative press about the iPhone 4, continues to utterly dominate, posting record highs in profit and units sold.

Apple pulls in 32% of all smartphone profits, iPhone reigns supreme

According to research done by Toni Sacconaghi of Bernstein Research, Apple—while only the 5th largest mobile phone vendor#151;contributed to 32% of the industry operating profits in the first half of 2009. Though its overall revenue is only a scant 8% of what the entire cell phone industry produces, Apple is profiting heavily, much like it has been in its $1,000+ computers.
