Apple questioned about netbooks during conference call

Today, Apple held their quarterly conference call to report earnings to the shareholders. They reported that they saw $1.21 billion in profit, which is up $160 million from this time last year. Not bad, I guess. I mean, it’s the best 2nd quarter Apple has ever had, but the interesting part of the conference call for me was the Q&A towards the end. Specifically, the question about netbooks.

Axiotron announces the ModBook Pro

Yesterday at Macworld, Axiotron announced the ModBook Pro. Adreas Has, the CEO, and Steve Wozniak were both there, and so was I. I got a chance to sit down with CEO of Axiotron Andreas Has and view a nonworking model of the ModBook Pro. We talked about more announcements than just the ModBook Pro, but this amazing new product makes use of them all.

MacBook Touch coming in October?

Okay, so I know this guy who knows this guy who knew this guy who read on Gizmodo that MacDailyNews has a source who leaked that the MacBook Touch will be coming in October. Obviously, it’s just a rumor, and we’ve heard such rumors before, but here’s what has the Apple web abuzz:

  1. This source apparently leaked wireless iTunes a week before it was announced.
  2. Steve Jobs mentioned in the Apple earnings report yesterday that Apple’s “…busy finishing several more wonderful new products to launch in the coming months.” He also promised, “…technologies and features that others can’t match.”
  3. October’s a great time for a device, considering the shopping season.
  4. People really, really want this to be true.
