New Apple TV already jailbroken
Even before the Apple TV has made it into the hands of customers around the nation, a jailbreak has become available for it. Since the device has been confirmed to be running iOS 4.1, the developer of the SHAtter exploit, @pod2g, has been able to decrypt the key to mount the image. In less technical terms, this means that the Apple TV may be able to do all sorts of neat things other than what Apple software will allow.
Add functionality to your Apple TV with Boxee
Earlier, we previewed the alpha of Boxee. It’s a version of the XBMC that runs on a Mac. You can use it to watch videos, subscribe to podcasts, get recommendations from its social features, etc. They call it a social media center.
