Macworld | iWorld 2012: A Hero Will Rise
In our first video study of Macworld | iWorld 2012, we took a quick look at the seedy underbelly of the event. Now, we wonder about the public displays of peace, love and understanding that this “lifestyle event” has engendered. Drum lines? Public dances? At a tech show? Who can stop them? Who can save the world?
The seedy underbelly of Macworld | iWorld 2012
You may think Macworld | iWorld is all happiness and community and free logo-emblazoned foam balls, but that’s not the case. There’s a seedy underbelly to the biggest iFan event of the year, and this year, Appletell found itself in the middle of it. In this short series of videos, we’ll explore the side of Macworld that most people don’t see. The world of $65,000 speaker systems, bouncing women, and fancy appetizers.
Macworld 2011: Day two recap [video]
Day two of Macworld Expo 2011 has come and gone, but don’t think we haven’t noticed. In tonight’s roundup video, we discuss the lack of a keynote speaker, take a look at Navigon’s Design Car Kit, find out what a used 1st gen iPhone is worth, and head into the Black Forest to find a fairly cool iPhone clock.
Is the Apple iPad a winner?
Throughout the coming weeks (months and years), there’s going to be plenty of talk about the iPad. In fact, there already is, covering everything from the name to the apps to the features that are missing (seriously…why do you all love cameras so much?). The good people at TechVi got these conversations flowing early by inviting Techmeme.com’s Rich DeMuru and me, your Appletell editor-in-chief to discuss Apple’s announcement.
How-to video: iDevice app management in iTunes 9
One of the many useful features introduced in iTunes 9 is app management. Finally, you can rearrange and organize your apps and home screens on your iPhone or iPod touch with the ease of the mouse. I thought the best way to show off the new app management features of iTunes 9 was to just show you. So, here’s a video showing off the new feature.
Appletellcast weekly Apple podcast, March 22nd 2009
This week’s biggest announcement was obviously Apple’s preview of iPhone OS 3.0. That said, other things happened. I had quite the experience with my new iPod shuffle, and Kirk has another old, hard-to-find Mac game that he wants you to dust off. And of course, our iPhone Podium stand winner! If you didn’t win, don’t worry, we still have one more to give away this week.
Appletell unboxing: The new iPod shuffle
Last week Apple released the 3rd generation iPod shuffle. I’ve owned every generation so far; why stop now? I went to my friendly local Apple Store to pick one up, and thought I’d unbox it on video for you guys. It’s no Mac Mini unboxing, but it’s still fun. Let’s see what I got.
Apple’s new MacBook Pro – Unboxed
When Apple announced the new MacBook Pro, the first thing I did was order it. Instead of ordering the base configuration, I opted for the higher end MacBook Pro with a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of Ram and an upgraded 320GB 7200 rpm drive. I’m guessing that drive upgrade is the reason I received my notebook a week late. But no worries, I’m so happy it’s here that it doesn’t matter anymore. There is one last thing I have to do before I can start using my new notebook, and that of course, is the obligatory unboxing.
