Review: JayBird Freedom Bluetooth Headphones

JF3-01-3001

Cutting the cord; it’s what we runners would love to do. Running with headphones can be a huge pain thanks to that thin wire that just refuses to stay out of the way. The obvious solution to this problem is having tunes pumped straight into your brain, but Bluetooth headphones are the most acceptable compromise to date. JayBirds has a few different styles of bluetooth headphones for your wireless pleasure. I took at look at their Freedom headphones to see if they are the solution to my workout woes.

NuForce BT-860 Stereo Bluetooth V2.1 Headset review

My experience with Bluetooth audio has been limited to ear pieces that give you sound in tinny mono, adequate for phone calls in the car but not much else. So, when I hooked up the BT-860 headphones, I was amazed by the stereo sound quality: rich sound, good bass, and the ability to watch video with few or no sync problems. The headphones, which also work as a headset for phone calls, are stylish and comfortable, and give you an excellent listening experience, free of cables.

JayBird launches JF3 Freedom Bluetooth In Ear Sport Headphones

If you’re looking for the ultimate set of running headphones, your search may be at an end. JayBird, makers of bluetooth headphones, has just launched the brand new JF3 Freedom Bluetooth Headphones. In addition to being tiny and wireless, these guys have secure-fit ear cushions to ensure they don’t fall out while your head is banging around doing all sorts of sports. And they’re even sweat proof, making them theoretically the perfect set of sport headphones.

CES 2010: Jaybird announces BlueBuds Bluetooth Earphones

This year at CES, JayBird announced the next generation of bluetooth headphones: the BlueBuds. This time, they’re much smaller. They have music controls and a microphone, so you don’t miss out on any of the regular features of the standard iPhone headset. They even shape to fit your ears with a flexible (but stiff) cord. Apple review – iMuffs MB210 Wireless Headphones

By and large, I don’t mind wires. I’d rather deal with wires than batteries, I suppose. Wires are free. And better for the environment. And more useful should I find myself in a MacGyveresque predicament…which has never happened, and which I wouldn’t recognize if it did because I’ve never actually seen an episode of the show, but the reference seemed appropriate.

My mouse and keyboard sit on my desk. They barely move, so why would they need to be wireless? Headphones, however, move around with me. An important area of activity often separates them from the device into which they’re plugged, so I thought I’d give the iMuffs MB210 Wireless Headphones a try to see if they made it easier to listen to some Thomas Dolby while I’m getting things done.
