iPad Appidemic: Photobox
In a nutshell, Photobox is a simple iPad app that lets you quickly see on-the-spot analysis of your photos, using your iPad’s screen. The app gives you various details about your photos, such as exposure, focus, color and composition. It is not a photo correction tool—let me just emphasize that point this early on. You won’t be able to do anything to correct your photos using this app. Instead, it will just make you appreciate the technical details of your photos.

From time to time, we at Appletell like to draw special attention to new products and updates. In my particular case, it tends to happen often with Boinx. This week, the company announced updates to its popular FotoMagico slideshow generator, including iMediaBrowser 2 integration, updated Flickr support and a consumer-friendly FotoMagico Remote price reduction to boot. I’ve been using the v3.6 beta for a month now, and I can say its certainly worth the download for current users. If you’ve never tried FotoMagico, now’s the time to check it out.

Appletell reviews FotoMagico 3 Pro for OS X
FotoMagico fills a very specific niche of people who need to do slide shows that are image or video-based, rather than communicating through text (like Powerpoint or Keynote). Because while Fotomagico does have a simple text tool, it’s based around the idea of visuals swimming by the viewer. It’s an ideal application for creating a photomontage.
Appletell reviews Boinx FxTiles for Final Cut and After Effects
Editing is “the invisible art” because the better it is, the less the audience notices it. But there are times when maybe you want to add a lot of energy to a transition, or call attention to an edit for dramatic or comedic reasons. Or maybe you’re trying to recreate a music video from the 80s. Boinx FxTiles are a set of splashy transitions and video filters that give you just that.
