Bring iOS 4 Camera zoom functionality back to iOS 5 with ZoomIsBack!

iOS 5 brought with it a change in how users can zoom when taking a picture within the Camera app. In iOS 4, zooming was accomplished by double tapping the screen and bringing up the zoom bar, but iOS 5 instead implemented pinch to zoom. Some users have been unhappy with this change, and if that’s the case with you, you can bring back the older method of zooming (as long as your iDevice is jailbroken) with developer Itay’s ZoomIsBack! tweak in Cydia.

How to use your iSight to record video in iMovie

Using your iSight web camera is a great way to record video into iMovie. You may not remember this, but there were two different types of iSight web cameras: internal and the discontinued external. However, Apple is still a relatively young company and can branch out so much more. The questions is, if at all, where? Will they enter the digital camera market? The gaming market? The GPS and auto market? Or maybe even video cameras? It could be any of the above, especially given the fact that Apple has applied for so many patents lately. It will be interesting to find out, but heres my thoughts:

Lightroom 1.4 released, Aperture still fails

For all of those who truly believe that Aperture is sub-par (such as myself), the amazing alternative, Adobe Lightroom, has been updated to version 1.4. You may be asking yourself, “what magical powers does this delicious upgrade bring?”. And my answer to you is “printer driver bug fixes”. Exciting, huh? If you’re printer has been more »
