Amazon has released another one of its iOS apps specifically for college students, calling it Amazon Student. The purpose of the app is to allow students to trade in their used textbooks and other items such as DVDs, games, electronics, and more towards Amazon gift cards. A user simply scans the barcode on the item(s) they’d like to trade in and the app will calculate trade-in offers based on what they are and how much they’re worth.

The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) admitted Wednesday that their study on illegal movie downloads had a serious flaw. In a 2005 study, the MPAA accused college students of being the cause of 44% of illegal movie downloads, mostly because of easy access to high bandwidth networks at the colleges.
