Appletell reviews Days of Thunder for iPhone, iPod touch

Days of Thunder should appeal to two types of gamers: race fans and those who want something that takes iPhone gaming up a notch. Casual games are well and good, but when you’re looking for something on your iPhone or iPod touch to really make you feel like you’ve got a hard core gaming system, Days of Thunder is it. It doesn’t offer the depth and complexity of a hard core racing game, but it sure does feel the part, and that’s the best we’re going to get for now.

Freeverse wants you to see the Thunder

Personally, I think if you’re going to bring a racing game to the iPhone that’s based on a movie, you should go with Six Pack starring Kenny Rogers, Diane Lane and Wilma from Buck Rogers. But Freeverse made what’s likely the wiser choice by bringing us Paramount’s Days of Thunder, full of “Explosions, twisted metal and enemies …” because a stock car racing game without explosions and enemies is…well…turning left.
