Free apps roundup for March 26th, 2010
Another great week for the App Store. There are enough apps and games this week to keep you busy while waiting for the iPad next week. Soon, I’ll be able to include iPad apps as well, which is very exciting indeed. Until then, we’ve got an online multiplayer pictionary-style game, Digg, two search apps, some Crazy Traffic, and an app I would’ve loved in high school.

Kevin Rose predicts mass iPod update
Take this with an entire shaker of salt, but Kevin Rose, founder of everybody’s favorite website, Digg, has announced his take on the September iPod updates. Rose says, in a YouTube video he created, that there will be a mass revamp of the entire iPod line. He hypothesizes that the iPod nano will go back to its roots and sport a longer, narrower form factor.
Additionally, according to his “sources,” he says the iPod touch will go under minor cosmetic changes, but more importantly sport a revision to its OS, which the iPhone will receive shortly thereafter. Kevin also says the iPods will drop in price to distance themselves from the iPhone, which starts at $199. Finally, he adds that iTunes will be updated to 8.0, which will earn the upgrade from version 7 with many new features. As expected, all of this will be announced formally within the next few weeks.
