iPad Appidemic: Monopoly HD

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past century, you’ve played Monopoly. And if there’s one thing the game is known for, it’s the game’s seemingly limitless number of themes. While iPad isn’t exactly a theme, it is one of the many different flavors of Monopoly available. If you have an iPad and you love Monopoly, there’s really no reason not to buy it have gather the family up.

Free apps update for December 17th, 2010

This week on the App Store there are a ton more games, but that’s not all. I also found a number of great utilities: more location tracking, a translator from the future and a great news app. And, as always, a decent number of these are limited time freebies. Grab ‘em while they’re free.

Appletell reviews Tetris for iPad

Tetris is a game that defies explanation. More than 20 years after it was originally released, it’s still immensely popular on nearly every device that has a screen big enough to support its relatively simple gameplay. And maybe that’s its appeal; that it’s so easy to just pick up and play. Tetris for iPad further reinforces why we still love Tetris; because it’s so damn fun. But Tetris is more than fun, it’s compelling.

Appletell reviews Scrabble for iPad

You can play Scrabble the old fashion way, on the go, on your iPhone, with cards, and with dice. Now, you can play it on your iPad, too, and there are plenty of reasons why you’d want to. The screen is big enough to not require zooming, you don’t have to (physically) set much of anything up, and you can play over the net with your friends on Facebook. But are Scrabble for iPad’s improved graphics enough to make it that much better than Words with Friends HD or even Scrabble for iPhone?

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning for Macintosh now available

War. What is it good for? For hammering online, apparently. Mythic Entertainment and Electronic Arts have announced that the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), is now available for the Macintosh. The Mac version is available to new subscribers via digital download at Gametreeonline.com for $19.95. Current subscribers can download the Mac version free of charge.

Rock Band for iPhone OS is a great success

Well, I can’t say I didn’t see this coming. Rock Band for the iPhone OS by EA Games has hit the App Store’s Top 10 and conquered the Top Grossing list in the U.S. just a few days after its release this week. One could argue that this has happened to many App Store apps in the past, so what makes Rock Band so special? For one thing, the game sold for $9.99 with none of the free versions, trials, pricing sales or schemes that have been plaguing the App Store for quite some time now.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning hits Mac on October 28th, beta available now

If Mythic Entertainment had a hammer, they’d hammer out war all over this Mac. Not sure how the Weavers would feel about that, but it’s good news for Mac gamers. Mythic Entertainment has announced that the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR), will be released for the Macintosh on October 28, 2009. WAR on Mac will be available to new subscribers via digital download at Gametreeonline.com for $19.95 and includes 30 days of game time. Current subscribers will be able to download the Mac client at no charge for use with existing accounts.

The best way to waste even more hours on your iPod

Remember Monopoly, the game that you started on a Saturday night with your family but weren’t able to finish to almost a month later because it takes so long? Well, if you were waiting for that to come to the iPod, you’re in luck. Apple has now released Electronic Art’s Monopoly game via the iTunes Store for the slim price of $4.99. It is compatible with almost all current model iPods, but won’t work with your iPod Touch, iPhone, or computer.

Feature list after the break.
