Appletell reviews SongGenie 2
SongGenie 2 (SG) is the sister program to CoverScout 3, automating the tasks of searching the internet for missing data on your music files. While CoverScout searched for album art (natch), SongGenie 2 is the other half of finding missing song info—and to my mind the more important—identifying the title, artist, and album, and also searching for lyrics.
Appletell reviews The TubeStick hybrid
If you want to watch TV on your Mac, you basically have two companies to choose between: Elgato and Equinux. I think it’s safe to say that Elgato is a little better known for this kind of software, but Equinux’s The Tube has a number of features that Elgato’s EyeTV doesn’t, including some pretty interesting iPhone functionality. And that makes it quite tempting to look at the TubeStick over the EyeTV Hybrid.
Appletell reviews iSale 5 ebay selling utility
Equinux’s iSale 5 is one of a handful of applications that attempt to take the eBay experience and make it better. They do this by allowing you to easily create auctions that are much prettier than your standard eBay template. Not only that, they add a ton of extra features to sweeten the deal: Research Assistant, scheduled listings, video descriptions, and so much more.

When you rip a song from a CD using iTunes, it’s more or less automatically tagged with the correct artist and song information. On some occasions, it may be necessary for you to pick between two or more album choices if iTunes can’t determine just what CD is inside of it. And even more rare is for iTunes to give up completely and make you do it yourself. That last case is where you’d need something like SongGenie.
Appletell reviews CoverScout 3 by Equinux
If you thought only Apple could have a flawless cover art library for Cover Flow, you obviously haven’t used CoverScout 3. CoverScout 3 is an application that scans your iTunes Library and searches the Internet for art to match your albums. You can use its well designed interface to fill the holes left in your library or even to upgrade the quality of your existing cover art.
Equinux releases its TV receiver
Tuesday at the Macworld Expo, Equinux made their first foray into the Mac OS X TV receiver market with their TubeStick Hybrid product.
The USB TV receiver allows you to watch, pause, and record live TV from your Mac, iPod, or iPhone. Included with each TubeStick is software that allows you to chat with other TubeStick users during a show. With TubeToGo, users can watch recorded TV on their iPods or iPhones.
