Evernote significantly updates its iOS app

A pretty big update for the Evernote iOS app has hit the App Store, including notable new features such as support for rich text, a completely redesigned user interface for the iPad version, and shared notebooks. As far as rich text support goes, users can now stylize text, add highlights and URLs, create headers, edit and create messages, and make lists. Creating checkboxes, though, is still only available in the desktop Evernote app.

Evernote acquires Skitch and makes it a free app on the Mac App Store

Both Skitch and Evernote are undoubtedly high-quality (although very different) pieces of software, offering a ton of features for users. While Evernote offers note-taking and archiving, Skitch is a screen capture and editing tool. The developers behind Evernote apparently saw the amazing things Skitch has to offer, and decided to buy out the company as announced earlier this morning at a conference in San Francisco, California.

Web development on the Mac: Client requirement handling

Coming from a developer’s niche, I will admit that getting client’s requirements in the proper fashion, and implementing development methodologies along your project, is a hard thing to sell to fellow programmers. Developers’ impetuous desire to get things done goes against most of the best practices development methodologies recommended. In addition, the client’s urging to see the final product doesn’t always go along with patience and the detail-driven requirement descriptions we know are needed.

Evernote 2.0 now available for Mac

If you aren’t already using Evernote, there’s a fairly decent chance you don’t write much. Evernote has just made available version 2.0 of their fantastic note editing and syncing service. What’s new? How about notebook sharing, notebook stacks, a redesigned left panel, and the ever popular “more great features.” Let’s have a quick look at the new features shan’t we?
