Appletell reviews EyeFi Pro X2 wireless SD card

There’s been a hole in Eye-Fi’s wireless memory card lineup for some time now: a truly Pro memory card. The original Pro card just wasn’t fast enough to keep up with a shutter-happy photographer. So Eye-Fi has attempted to answer that issue this year with the Eye-Fi Pro X2 card with 8GB of storage, Class 6 read/write speeds, and RAW support. As if that wasn’t enough, this was the first card to get Endless Memory Mode and wireless N support. So, can they call it Pro now?

Macworld 2010: Appletell’s favorite products

Although Macworld Expo 2010 was confined to just the north hall of Moscone Center this year, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a wide array of great products. Now that we’ve had a chance to settle down and review our notes and brochures, the Appletell staff in attendance has selected our favorite products of Macworld 2010: a camera card, some competition for AppleTV, and a helicopter that wasn’t even a part of the show.

CES 2010: Eye-Fi’s Pro X2 and Eye-Fi Center [updated]

The Eye-Fi Pro X2 represents a further refinement of Eye-Fi’s original idea of wireless memory. Obviously, this is the best yet. Not only will it wirelessly upload your pictures, it will do it over 802.11 N, if it’s available. Those pictures (or videos) will find their way to various web services of your choice, and/or your computer. And what makes this card better than the rest is its “endless memory” feature.

Eye-Fi and Google team up for one awesome deal

Google and Eye-Fi have teamed up to announce one heck of a deal. If you buy 200GB of online storage from Google, Eye-Fi will throw in one of their 4GB SDHC Eye-Fi Home video cards for free along with a year of Web Share and Geotagging. FYI, it only costs $50 for one year’s worth of 200GB of online storage from Google. The memory card by itself is $69.99, and the one year of Web Share and Geotagging is another $24.98.

Appletell reviews Eye-Fi Explore

Eye-Fi makes a very unique product. It’s a 2GB SD memory card, and I’d be surprised if you didn’t already know it has a wireless chip in it, as well. With it, you can upload your pictures straight from your camera to your computer or to places on the web—like Flickr—without the need for any pesky cables. But you already knew that, all you want to know now is if it works.
