Elgato is well known for their superb EyeTV software and hardware that goes along with it. Recording TV is what they do best, but it’s not all they do; Elgato also makes a great product called the Turbo.264. It’s a USB dongle that eats video for breakfast, and throws up compressed video just as soon as you look away. Seriously though, it kills just about anything else in a speed test.

The EyeTV Hybrid is a superb TV tuner that brings DVR functionality to the Mac with incredible video quality. It, together with EyeTV 3.1, allows you to watch and record live TV, set up recording schedules, and export recordings for later viewing and archiving. EyeTV updated to add support for TV Guide and Smart Series Guides
Elgato, creators of the EyeTV Hybrid TV Tuner Stick, has released EyeTV 3.1. This update, the first significant upgrade in over a year, introduces a new electronic programming guide for North America and the Smart Series Guide feature, which automatically records an entire season of a TV show. The update also adds parental controls and numerous other enhancements.
