Apple makes Final Cut Studio available for sale again

After all of the controversy surrounding the lack of features in Apple’s newest Final Cut Pro X, it’s not much of a surprise the company has brought back Final Cut Studio for sale. The software is now available again for $999 with a $100 discount for educational customers, and is only available for purchase by calling 800-MY-APPLE and not through Apple’s retail or online stores.

Apple updates Final Cut Studio with more than 100 new features

Coming quietly in the night like a ninja, it appears as if Apple has updated much of their more expensive software. According to Phil Schiller, “The new Final Cut Studio includes more than 100 new features and dramatically expands Apple’s ProRes family of codecs so editors can work in the studio with the highest quality video or on location at low bandwidths.” However, it is also interesting that Apple has decreased the price tag on this product by $300 and priced it at $999, or just $299 for an update.
