Free apps update for October 22nd, 2010
This week on the free app update you can check into nearly every location service available online at once with a single app: FootFeed. I found some utilities for creating documents, playing music and creating calender events more easily, and more. And all of you FarmVille players, first off, I’m glad to see you’ve ventured out to the rest of the internet. Soon, you won’t have to, because they’ve updated FarmVille for iPad.
Free apps update for September 24th, 2010
This week, I found a bunch of games, utilities and more. First up is a dream come true for anyone who knows what a codec is. VLC is an amazing app that removes the need to ever worry about codecs; it’ll play just about any video on Mac, and now most of the power is available on iOS. I also found an unusual amount of limited time freebies. So, act fast before all the developers start charging again. (Hey, Glee fans, be sure to stick it out all the way to the end. You’ll be glad you did.)
Appletell reviews FourSquare for iPhone, iPod touch
FourSquare is a social media application designed to bring people together in the real world, using geolocation and other social media apps. After you register (for free), you can “sign in” to locations around town and it’ll notify your friends (and other FourSquare users) where you are. If you register your Twitter or Facebook account, you can broadcast your location using those as well (it will also scan your list of friends to find out if any of them are on FourSquare).
