Star Legends: The Blackstar Chronicles brings gamers together
At one time, it was an amazing feat for Macs and PCs to play with each other for multiplayer games. Now, Star Legends: The Blackstar Chronicles will bring together players with mobile devices—both Android and iOS—with those on Macs and PCs for the first 3D MMO in gaming history. In Star Legends, human privateers travel to the UCS Blackstar, a massive colony ship, to answer the call of fame and fortune.

Illusion Labs releases Touchgrind on Mac for free
Today, Illusion Labs released Touchgrind for Mac on the Mac App Store. You may already be familiar with the iPhone and iPad versions of this game. The game is one of the best uses of the multitouch capabilities of iOS devices. Now you can experience it in full screen glory on your Mac. And thanks to the success of this game on iOS, they’ve decided to release it free of charge.
Steam introduces five Free to Play games
Valve has launched five Free to Play (F2P) games on Steam, including Spiral Knights (the only one that’s Mac compatible), Forsaken Worlds, Champions Online: Free for All, Global Agenda: Free Agent, and Alliance of Valiant Arms (AVA). Starting today, each of the five F2P games will offer exclusive in-game content for those who play the “F2P game of the day” on Steam.
Gameloft to give away one free game a day until December 25th
Starting Today, Gameloft is giving away one game per day until Christmas. That’s right, you don’t even have to pretend to look for money in your post-Black Friday wallet to get some great games on the App Store. All you have to do is follow Gameloft’s Twitter account for their daily announcement for the next 24 days. It’s a Festivus, er, Christmas miracle.
Appletell reviews Labyrinth3D and Wooden Labyrinth 3D for iPhone and iPod touch
Labyrinth- or maze-style games are abundant on the App Store. I’ve reviewed the straightforwardly named “Labyrinth” in the past and liked it for its simple yet challenging game play. But it’s been some time since that game came out, and others have improved upon its game play. One that stands out from the rest is called Wooden Labyrinth 3D. Just don’t forget that wooden part, otherwise you’ll find another game called Labyrinth 3D. As you’ll soon find out, they are very different games.
Quake possibly coming to the App Store
Quake and even Quake 3 Arena have been available for jailbroken iPhone’s for some time now, but there’s been nothing from the App Store yet. That could all change thanks to ZodTTD. Zod made an announcement that a free port of Quake has been submitted to Apple. Whether or not it sees the light of day on the App Store, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Game details and video after the break.

App Store free apps round-up – October 10, 2008
Another week, another list. By this time, I’m sure you’ve come to some sort of agreement between you and your iPhone about apps. If you’re anything like me, you’ve realized you can’t have every app you’ve downloaded still installed on your iPhone. On top of that, organization of apps is no fun, but it sure is nice. I really wish Apple would implement some way of auto-sorting apps onto their own pages, perhaps by type or category. I’d still like to organize the icons with my Mac instead of with my finger, which takes too long.
Anyway, following are some more apps for your downloading pleasure…
