Get Front Row back in OS X Lion

Some people are unhappy with Apple’s exclusion of Front Row from OS X Lion, and one of those people is Ralph Perdomo. His app, entitled Front Row Enabler for Lion, is a free download that restores Front Row to OS X Lion, which has been confirmed to be publicly released today. All one needs to do is install the tweak in Lion, reboot, and then enjoy having Front Row back.

Miss Hulu on Boxee? You have a few other options

It was a sad day when Hulu’s advertisers decided that they needed to pull themselves from Boxee. The only ones they are really hurting are themselves (and perhaps Hulu in the process). But never fear, you have various options on how to watch Hulu, none of which involve actually going to Hulu.com.

Appletell preview: Boxee for Mac Alpha

Boxee is a new application for the Mac that is much like Front Row, only better—in theory. While XBMC is still available, there is an interesting offshoot based on it’s code called Boxee and it’s making its way to a Mac near you soon.

Why soon? Well, that’s because Boxee is still in Alpha, so there are still some wrinkles to iron out here. But that’s not to say it’s not already shaping up to be an awesome application. More on the program, and how you can participate in the alpha testing, after the break.

iTunes 7.6.2 update

Alternatively, you can download it directly from Apple’s website. Previous updates more »

Front Row Quietly Updated at WWDC

So with all the hype around Leopard this year, it seems Steve forgot to mention some other updates in Apple software. Secretly updated, Front Row in Leopard works like your Apple TV to play digital media from your mac using your Apple remote. The new interface resembles that of the Apple TV with menu items more »
