All Pangea games for iOS free until 8pm CST tonight

Pangea Software is celebrating the anniversary of the App Store it in the best way possible—by making all of their iOS games free (and this is a very impressive line-up of games). After 8pm, they will all go on sale for just 99 cents (still a deal, considering the regular prices of Pangea’s iOS games are generally $3 to $4).

iPhone Appidemic: BudgetCare

Need to save for that new Verizon iPhone or the iPad 2G? Need to get your spending under control, or figure out where all your money went? How about an easy way to record your travel expenses, and then export it into a tax program or accounts management program such as Quicken? BudgetCare is an easy-to-use budget program with all these features.

2010 smartphone census report

Retrevo has released some interesting data as part of their 2010 Gadget Census, a report that “looked at what gadgets people own and how they use them, including data on how many smartphones are represented per capita in each state.” Have an iPhone? There’s a good chance you’re from California (no surprise there), Massachusetts, or Florida. Like Android? Fortunately for you, Android wins in a lot of states. However, the states in which it wins (like Hawaii and Montana) aren’t very populous, leaving the platform with few “gadgetoral” votes. Like getting “company” work done on your phone? There’s a good chance you live in New York, Texas and the Beltway states of Maryland and Virginia and carry a Blackberry.

How to locate your iPad serial number when you don’t have your iPad

There may be times you’ll need your iPad serial number when you don’t have your iPad with you. Hopefully, you wrote it down somewhere (or kept the box). If not getting the serial number out of iTunes even without connecting your iPad is not as difficult as you’d think. All you need to have is access to a computer that has had a previous sync with the device.

How to locate your iPad serial number via iTunes

When you need service or support of any kind for your iPad, you need to have your serial number. If you cannot find it on the back of your device (perhaps you have it covered with an adhesive skin), you can easily find the number in iTunes. There’s no need to remove the skin, just hook up the iPad and you can get you what you need in no time.

Appletell reviews the EyeTV One TV tuner for DTV antennas

The EyeTV One is as simple as a product gets. It does one thing—converting an over-the-air DTV signal to USB—and it does that one thing very well. However, just that would be a boring review, and the questions surrounding this product aren’t so much about whether it works, but what it actually does, and where it would fit into a home entertainment setup. I can see the One fitting perfectly into my Mac mini-entertainment-center dream.

Appletell reviews OtterBox Commuter and Commuter TL iPhone cases

First impressions are everything, and the OtterBox Commuter series of iPhone cases certainly know how to make an entrance! Careful attention to detail, quality construction, and several other thoughtful features make both cases continually satisfying to use. Depending upon your needs, either the Commuter or Commuter TL cases are standout choices among the bevy of soft silicone iPhone cases.

Nice try, but that’s no new iPhone

We’re less than a week away from Apple’s WWDC keynote, and the latest in iPhone rumors has risen to the surface, from Italian Apple blog, iSpazio. The images that were posted are apparently from an image of the iPhone page on Apple’s website—the page that would be updated as new hardware is unveiled. The phone looks plausible, granted, but things feel a little fake around the edges for me.

Appletell reviews the iPod shuffle (3rd gen)

If the iPod shuffle was art, it would be beautiful. If it was a concept design, then it would be elegant. If it was functional, it would be amazing. Wait, what was that last one again? It’s not functional? You read correctly. The iPod shuffle is quite possibly the only piece of Apple gear I’ve been unhappy enough with to actually return. Let me explain why.

Appletell reviews the Audioengine W2 wireless music adapter for iPod

The Audioengine W2 is a wireless music adapter compatible with the iPhone and iPods. There are two main components; the Sender and the Receiver. Setup is very simple; connect the Sender to your iPod via the dock connector, plug the Receiver into a powered USB plug (either the included AC power adapter or a computer), and connect the included wire from the Receiver to your stereo or desktop speakers. A mini-jack to RCA cable and a mini-jack cable are included in the box for connecting the adapters to your speakers.
