Gamevil goes HD, 2 on 2 PvP with Zenonia 4…for free
Regret is back. Gamevil announced today that Zenonia 4: Return of the Legend is now available for iPhone and iPod touch. The popular RPG series has gone HD for the first time, with an exotic and colorful world that “comes alive with visuals more stunning and clearer than ever before, as crisp graphics are now optimized for Retina displays on the latest iPhone and iPod touch.” Oddly enough, it’s still not optimized for iPad, but it is free.
Zenonia 3: The Midgard Story for iPhone and iPod touch review
Zenonia 3 is still a wonderfully deep RPG adventure that not only harkens back to the halcyon days of the GameBoy Legend of Zelda games, but that builds on them to take advantage of the more modern gaming systems. You can lose dozens of hours in these games. Yet, I couldn’t help but feel when playing through Zenonia 3 that retro is starting to feel a bit stale.
Zenonia 3 now available for iPhone and iPod touch
Every time I play Zenonia on the iPhone, I think I’d rather be playing it on the Wii. It’s that big, and it’s that good. And although Gamevil hasn’t yet given us that, they have given us Zenonia 3: The Midgard Story, now available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad (sadly, though, it’s not a Universal app).
Illusia RPG for iPhone, iPod touch review
Stop me if you’ve heard this one. In a small village, a young boy dreams of becoming a powerful warrior. His town is surrounded by a forest populated by fantastical creatures, and as he battles them to prove himself, he suddenly discovers a magical villain is threatening the very world itself! And so, this boy journeys out, gradually fighting stronger and stronger foes until finally he faces his enemy in a battle to determine the fate of the planet/galaxy/universe/multiverse. You know the game I’m talking about, right?
HYBRID 2: Saga of Nostalgia now available for iPhone, iPod touch
Remember when you finally found that game that, for you, proved once and for all that the iPhone and iPod touch are legitimate contenders amongst portable gaming devices? For me, it was Gamevil’s action (and text) heavy RPG, Hybrid: Eternal Whisper. Now, the company has announced that its sequel for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad—HYBRID 2: Saga of Nostalgia—is available in the App Store.
Appletell reviews Zenonia 2 for iPhone, iPod touch
I don’t want to play this game on the iPhone, I really don’t. It has no business being there. It’s too big, both in presentation and scope. I said the same of its predecessor—Zenonia—but it’s doubly true here. This game needs to be on the iPad, and it needs to be there yesterday. But if you’re an RPG fan with an iPhone or iPod touch but without the patience to wait for a possible iPad release, you absolutely should play Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories now.
The Ten games I most want to play on the iPad (Part 2)
Apple only last week started accepting iPad optimized app submissions, so who knows if our favorite games will be ready to go by April 3rd? Of course, that doesn’t prevent us from getting our hopes up. Last week, I offered a list of five games I’ve played on the iPhone that I’m now excited about playing on the iPad. In this article, I’ll list the five I’ve not yet played but certainly will when (if) an iPad version is made available.
Appletell reviews Zenonia for iPhone, iPod touch
I’m not playing this game because I had tremendous interest in it. Zenonia’s nearly a year old, you see, having been released in the U.S. in May of 2009. So, why play through it now? Because Zenonia 2 is due out this month, and if that game is half as cool as it looks, you owe it to yourself to work through this action-JRPG before its sequel is released. Zenonia is a big, satisfying game on a system that’s unsatisfyingly small.
Appletell reviews Hybrid: Eternal Whisper for iPhone and iPod touch
The developers will tell you that Hybrid: Eternal Whisper is “a new breed of stylish action adventure.” I’ll tell you it’s the type of game that’ll have you believing the iPhone and iPod touch are legitimate contenders amongst portable gaming devices. Hybrid wasn’t designed for iPhone owners who play games, it was designed for gamers who own iPhones.
