GarageBand announced for iPhone and iPod Touch

When Apple released GarageBand for the iPad 2 back in March, many speculated it would remain exclusive to Apple’s tablet. It was a bit surprising, then, when Apple announced yesterday the GarageBand application for the iPhone and iPod touch. This newly updated application comes as an universal app, so current owners get iPhone and iPod touch usability without an additional purchase.

Apple updates all of its iLife OS X apps

Apple has just updated all five of its iLife apps for OS X, mostly with minor bug fixes and changes. Those who have purchased the apps via the Mac App Store can head over there to update, and those who have purchased physical copies can update through Software Update or from Apple’s support web page. Following are the changelogs for GarageBand 6.0.4, iMovie 9.0.4, iPhoto 9.1.5, iWeb 3.0.4, and iDVD 7.1.2 for OS X…

Image-Line’s FL Studio Mobile is coming to iOS

Garageband for iPad is a pretty sweet app, there’s no doubt there. But there are a few possible names that could give Garageband a run for its money should they ever make an app of their own. One of those names is FL Studio. Yes, soon you’ll be able to lay down some potentially sick beats with FL Studio Mobile in iPad or iPhone.

GarageBand for iPad review

GarageBand for iOS is a major achievement in music apps. It’s an all in one app that lets you record audio, process a guitar signal and even play your iPad as an instrument with minimal skill necessary. It’s a dream come true for musician’s on the go and a great place to put all of your musical ideas. There’s really no comparison on the App Store. Apple has hit a home run with GarageBand for iOS. Let me tell you why.

Apple posts iPad 2 guided tours

If you’re anything like me, then you just can’t wait to get your hands on the next gadget. Right now, that’s iPad 2. Waiting sucks, but today Apple posted Guided Tours online. It won’t get an iPad 2 in your hands any faster, but it might help remind you why you want one in the first place. There are 14 guided tour videos in total; one for each major Apple app on the device.

Connect your guitar to GarageBand on iPad 2 with Apogee’s JAM

I know what you’re thinking; the last thing iOS devices need is another guitar input interface. It’s a fair point, but Apogee’s JAM is different than the rest. Instead of utilizing the headphone jack as a line in, the JAM connects digitally to your iPad 2 or other iOS device via the dock connector. This digital interface should prove to be the highest quality guitar input for iOS. Plus, it pulls double duty by working over USB with your Mac.

Apple posts iPad 2 event video

Didn’t get an invite to Apple’s press event yesterday? No worries, the complete event video is live on Apple’s website and in iTunes right now. You can stream all of the fun straight to your screen this very moment. And I can’t help but say, it’s great to see you’re doing well Steve. Thanks for coming back to introduce iPad 2.

Apple announces GarageBand for iPad

Following the launch of iPad 2, Apple has released a brand new version of GarageBand, built specifically for the iPad. From what we’ve seen from the demonstrations at the press event this morning, GarageBand for iPad is an incredibly powerful application, that could prove to be just as useful – and more intuitive – than the full version of GarageBand available for Mac.

AmpliTube 2 for iPad now available on the App Store

As promised, IK Multimedia’s version 2.0 update to AmpliTube for iPad is now available on the App Store. Version 2.0 provides many of the same new features as it’s little brother, AmpliTube 2 for iPhone, such as 5 new stomp boxes, multitrack recording, SpeedTrainer function, improved sound and more. Just like before, you still have one extra effect slot with the iPad version of the app, and now if you buy the Multi-track recorder with master effects, you get 8 channels with 2 send effects and two master effects per channel. The update is free to all current users.

Appletell reviews the You Rock Guitar

The You Rock Guitar is not an electric guitar, it’s an electronic guitar. Yes, it may look like a fancy Rock Band game controller, but it’s so much more. It’s not only a game controller, it’s a MIDI controller and a functioning instrument…and it may just be the perfect tool for the musically inclined gamer or electronic musician. If you’re expecting this to sound or play exactly like a guitar, you will be disappointed. If you’re expecting it to be a fun musical tool, you will be happy.
