A recent update to Google’s Nexus One phone brings a feature Android users have been waiting for for quite some time now. While it won’t be available for all Android phones, Google’s phone will now support multi touch, including the popular pinch to zoom functionality of the iPhone. Support for this feature will be extended into the browser, photo gallery, and maps applications.

Recent reports are informing us that the Google Phone is no longer a rumor, and will in fact be released within a reasonable amount of time. The initial plan was to release the phone by the holiday season of this year, but we can now expect to see it early in 2010. While there has recently been an influx of Android phones making their way to the market, this one will actually be branded by Google, and I think it’ll be what we’ve been waiting for with Android.
