For all of us who’ve been lusting after a Parrot AR Drone but just couldn’t justify the cost, there’s a new option in iOS controlled flight. It’s called the HELO TC Touch-Controlled Helicopter by Griffin. As you can clearly see, it’s a little remote controlled helicopter, designed for indoor flight. But the real kicker is that you can, or rather, must, control the HELO TC with an iOS device running the HELO TC app. You can pick one up now for just $49.99
CES 2011: The top 5 gadgets for Apple products
There are far too many new products introduced at CES for any one person to sort through in a reasonable amount of time…but I’m capable of the unreasonable. That’s why I’ve done all of the work for you by painstakingly reading press releases, walking the show floor, and talking to developers all to find the best and most interesting product coming this year. Here are my Top 5 Apple-related products of CES 2011.
CES 2011: Hands on with Crayola ColorStudio HD for iPad
Admit it, you never really stopped enjoying coloring books. That’s a big reason why I think Griffin’s partnership with Crayola for ColorStudio HD is going to be a huge hit not only with kids, but their parents and adult friends too. It’s a glowing stylus that interacts with Crayola’s ColorStudio HD app, a fancy, modern coloring book that animates and reacts to motion.
CES 2011: All about audio
I’ve been walking the show floor for three days now, and I think it’s time I told you all about the audio equipment I’ve been seeing on the show floor. The coming year is set to be a full of great new products that help you create and listen to music with your Mac and iOS devices. In this roundup, we’ll take a look at some of the best accessories, headphones, speakers and speaker docks.
CES 2011: iOS audio accessories
CES is packed with great audio gear. There are always a ton of headphones, but I’m talking about accessories to help you make music. Stuff like microphones and accessories that help you create. Here’s what I found to be the most interesting products that can be used with iOS devices, including products from IK Multimedia, Samson, Griffin, ION Audio and more.
CES 2011: iPad accessories
After walking the CES 2011 show floor for one day, one thing is clear, iPad accessories are everywhere. From cases to stands, batteries, keyboards and more, you can find a ton of stuff for the iPad. But there’s a problem…nearly all of it’s crap. Thankfully, there are a few notable accessories I’d really like to share with you. So, let’s do just that.
Slap bracelet returns with the Slap Wristwatch Case for iPod nano
Fact: slap bracelets were the bomb. And just because that fad has come and gone doesn’t mean it needs to stay that way. Trends are cyclical, don’t you know; it just needs to be updated a bit. At least, that’s what Griffin is thinking with their Slap Wristwatch Case for iPod nano. It’s a very similar concept, only with a spot for your iPod nano right in the middle of all this slapping good fun.
Appletell reviews Peavey’s AmpKit LiNK
There are already a number of good ways to connect your guitar to your iOS device for use with various guitar apps, but that doesn’t mean this problem has been solved yet. Both Griffin and IKMultimedia have good solutions, but now Peavey is getting in the game. Their AmpKit LiNK claims to be the only adapter that can really handle high gain amplification simulation. This is a claim I’ve come to believe.
