iPhone applications to help you survive the holiday rounds
For most of us, the winder holidays mean a lot of driving, mostly in holiday traffic to visit your relatives, or attend a party. In previous years you have had to endure this without being able to do much about it. This year, your iPhone can rescue you from the tedium with the help of a few choice applications. Here’s our look at the best iPhone applications to get you through the travels you will face this holiday season.
Cyber Monday 2008 deals round-up
Black Friday’s over, unnamed Saturday and Sunday have past us by, and that leaves us with Cyber Monday, the day when everyone apparently spends the bulk of their workday shopping online. Of course, it’s been my experience that a better name for Cyber Monday is “Every Day of Friggin’ Year,” but let’s let the marketers and the retailers have their fun, right? This year, they need all the help they can get.
So, here’s our round-up of Cyber Monday deals as posted by our friends at Gadgetell and Gamertell, as well as some of our own at Appletell.
No new Apple products this year
Everyone who was holding their breath for a new Mac Mini, iMac, Mac Pro or Apple TV (myself included), can stop. Bill Evans, an Apple spokesman, killed the rumors, and possibly our hopes and dreams along with them.
“Our holiday line-up is set,” Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld.
And just like that, all the rumors are smashed. No November 10th/11th event, no new desktops, no secret netbooks, no nothing. But I’m not discouraged, and I don’t plan on wasting any time as far as rumors are concerned. All this means is that no new products or refreshes can happen earlier than 2009. So, now I ask the obvious question. What does Apple have in store for January?
