Hothead Games has announced they’re bringing a new, interactive version of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy to iOS devices, which is odd because iOS devices kind of are Guides. Regardless, the app, based on beloved series of books by the late, great Douglas Adams has been approved by his estate and will be voiced by Simon Jones, who portrayed Arthur Dent in the original radio series.

Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue is a profoundly juvenile game. I know, you’re surprised. A game that shamelessly appropriates the legend of The One Ring into a battle for seven items of all-powerful underwear? One where you teleport from location to location using outhouses? Juvenile? True, all too true. It also happens to be very funny. Deathspank, our titular (hee hee) and slightly dim-witted hero must battle his way through a world at war. A world that looks like it was cobbled out of a teenage boy’s Trapper Keeper…

Deathspank: Thongs of Virtue is coming to OS X. Really, I don’t know how I’m expected to expand upon or, God forbid, improve upon that sentence, but I get paid by the word, so here we go. Described as a mix of “Diablo meets Monkey Island,” D:ToV features the titular hero on a quest to destroy the “the six mystical thongs which have taken over the universe by corrupting those who wear them.” Which I think was the rejected first draft of Lord of the Rings.
