Rumor: iLife ’11 due in August with a new addition
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a major update concerning iLife, which makes it that much easier to believe this new rumor that it’s coming in August. Not just that, but it’s also said to have a brand new application. The rumor also declares the death of the iDVD, improvements to iPhoto Faces and Places, a totally renewed iWeb, and more. Jump past the break for details (and our thoughts, of course).
iLife ’09 officially shipping Tuesday, January 27th
We reported yesterday that iLife ’09 orders have been prepared for shipment. Apple has now officially announced that the program suite will be shipping January 27. Those who have purchased a new mac since January 6th qualify for the iLife ’09 Hardware Up-to-Date Program, allowing them the opportunity to upgrade to iLife ’09 for $9.95 + tax.
iLife ’09: What to expect
iWeb, iMovie, Garageband and iPhoto have all been upgraded. These are the applications that comprise the iLife suite. If you own a Mac, chances are you use one or more of these applications just about every day. Apple seems to be updating the software with new features about once a year, and this year everything gets a major improvement or two. Some of these new features are very powerful tools that are actually used by law enforcement (Faces). Kinda cool that we can use face recognition at home now. So, lets get to it.
The ’09 iSuites, Blu-ray on Tuesday?
9to5Mac is theorizing that this Tuesday event could be about more than just the MacBook family. Though Apple’s invitation was unusually specific (“The spotlight turns to notebooks”), 9to5Mac contends that iLife and iWork 09, as well as Blu-ray, could be present at the event. Though I’m fairly positive Steve Jobs won’t discuss anything at length besides notebooks, here’s what could happen as an update on the side…
