Apple has just updated all five of its iLife apps for OS X, mostly with minor bug fixes and changes. Those who have purchased the apps via the Mac App Store can head over there to update, and those who have purchased physical copies can update through Software Update or from Apple’s support web page. Following are the changelogs for GarageBand 6.0.4, iMovie 9.0.4, iPhoto 9.1.5, iWeb 3.0.4, and iDVD 7.1.2 for OS X…

After the release of Final Cut Pro X yesterday, Apple has decided to discontinue both Final Cut Express and Final Cut Server (along with Final Cut Studio). Those looking for video editing software from Apple will now only have two choices: iMovie or Final Cut Pro X.
Apple posts iPad 2 guided tours
If you’re anything like me, then you just can’t wait to get your hands on the next gadget. Right now, that’s iPad 2. Waiting sucks, but today Apple posted Guided Tours online. It won’t get an iPad 2 in your hands any faster, but it might help remind you why you want one in the first place. There are 14 guided tour videos in total; one for each major Apple app on the device.
iMovie for iPad
A mobile version of iMovie has been available for the iPhone 4 since its launch, but today, Apple brought the hugely popular video editing tool to the iPad. It appears to be a very similar experience to that found on the iPhone 4, but the bigger display means you can see more of what you’re working on, and the controls look to be more refined.
Free Apps Roundup for January 28th, 2010
This week on the Free Apps Roundup: Looking for a free alternative to Apple’s iMovie for iOS? Splice is just what you need. If photography is more your thing, Adobe pushed a great update to Photoshop. I found a bunch of free for a limited time games and the IRS’s app to track your tax refund that I’m sure you’re already on top of, right?
iMovie for iPhone 4 created video, hacked for iPhone 3GS
When Apple announced iMovie for iPhone 4, it remained to be seen what the application could actually do. After taking a look at it ourselves, we found it similar to the Mac OS X version, albeit somewhat feature-limited. Director Michael Koerbel didn’t let that stop him from making an iPhone short film entirely in iMovie for the iPhone 4 in under 48 hours. From shooting the clips to editing them, Koerbel has made a pretty awesome short film of great quality. It’s definitely worth a look.
Appletell reviews iMovie for iPhone 4
When Apple announced iMovie for the iPhone 4 at this year’s WWDC Keynote, I was delightfully surprised. However, I still remained skeptical at how well editing video could work on such a small device that doesn’t have nearly as much power as my MacBook Pro. After purchasing and using the application, though, I was once again delightfully surprised.
Apple updates iMovie to v8.0.2
Apple today released an update to iMovie, their video editing program that’s part of the iLife suite of applications. The new version fixes a problem where attempting to open projects with a file size of 0KB would cause iMovie to quit unexpectedly at launch. Version 8.0.2 also addresses a problem where full-screen mode could not be accessed on some systems.
Apple updates iLife/iWork apps
For those of you who missed it (indeed, I did until just now), Apple has released updates to their core iLife/iWork apps. iWeb, iMovie and iPhoto have all been updated, along with iLife Support, as have Keynote, Pages and Numbers. The updates were posted to Apple’s website on March 26th, and should be showing up in your Software Update.
