VH1 announces Intellivision for iPad lineup
Last week, Appletell broke the officinal news that VH1 would be bringing Intellivision to the iPad. Last night, Keith Robinson announced via Facebook that Apple has approved the release for April 3rd, and that it’ll run $2.99 for six games. The big news, though, are the six games to be included. There are some sweet surprises in there for both vintage gaming aficionados and those just looking to have a great deal of fun.
Exclusive: Intellivision coming to the iPad by April 3rd
“Once you compare, you’ll know.” It was true of Intellivision vs. Atari 30 years ago, and it’ll hopefully be true of the iPad vs. pretty much everything else come April 3rd. So, why not bring the two together in a perfect marriage between retro gaming geekdom and the potential future of portable computing? VH1 agrees, as they’ll be launching Intellivision Lives in the app store in time for the iPad lauch…pending Apple approval, of course.
The Ten games I most want to play on the iPad (Part 2)
Apple only last week started accepting iPad optimized app submissions, so who knows if our favorite games will be ready to go by April 3rd? Of course, that doesn’t prevent us from getting our hopes up. Last week, I offered a list of five games I’ve played on the iPhone that I’m now excited about playing on the iPad. In this article, I’ll list the five I’ve not yet played but certainly will when (if) an iPad version is made available.
Intellivision Lives! on your iPhone; interview with Keith Robinson
Retro gaming has been popular for quite some time, and it shows no signs of slowing down. My favorite classic system is the Intellivison, and I’ve tried the various repackaged versions on the Mac, GameCube, online, etc, but found them all to be a bit flat. The developers over at Intellivision Lives keep looking at new distribution methods, however, and they now have their sites set on the iPhone.
