Apple releases iOS 4.3.2 software update

It’s time once again to update your iDevices to the latest version of iOS. Apple has released iOS 4.3.2, which addresses issues with FaceTime, international iPad 3G connections and security. No word on whether this update is less battery hungry than past versions of iOS 4.3, but it’s sure to end some headaches for FaceTime and iPad 3G users. Verizon iPhone 4 users are no longer left out, but get iOS 4.2.7 instead.

iPad now available at Sam’s Club at a discount

Looking to get a head start on your holiday shopping this year? Black Friday is just around the corner, but chances are you aren’t going to find a better deal on an iPad than Sam’s Club. That’s right, Sam’s Club is the latest in a number of retailers that have begun to offer the iPad. The only difference is that Sam’s Club is doing it at a discount. You’ll need a membership card, but you won’t need to buy it in bulk.

Soon, you’ll be able to buy an iPad at Target

Today, Target officially confirmed the rumor that they will start carrying iPads in October. As of October 3rd, you’ll be able to pick up a WiFi iPad in all capacities, but only one (unknown) capacity WiFi + 3G iPad. You can already get an iPad from Best Buy or any Apple Store, but Target can only help sales of this netbook killer we know and love.

Appletell reviews CoPilot Live HD for iPad 3G

An iPad 3G GPS guidance app was inevitable, someone just had to be first. And that someone is CoPilot Live. It’s been available for the iPhone for some time, and is an attractive option for a lot of users because of its low price and robust feature set. The most attractive of these features might just be that they update map data every quarter, providing you with the freshest maps available—well, unless you’re Google or something.

iPad preorders to start at 8:30 AM EST Friday

The early worm gets the Apple, so you’d better set your alarm just a little earlier tonight to make sure you get first dibs on that iPad you’ve had your eye on. Remember, WiFi only models will be available on April 3rd, and the 3G models will make their debut later in April. Reports are that you’ll be able to pre-order online at apple.com at 5:30am Pacific time on Friday, March 12th.

The iPad and AT&T; here we go again

Since the announcement that AT&T would providing 3G coverage for Apple’s iPad, lots of people have asked “Why?” This question is based on the fact that many people have been very disappointed—and even frustrated—by the performance of AT&T’s 3G network performance and coverage. But I think the answer to why AT&T was chosen again is not as much an issue of network performance as it is network technology.

The iPad: 3G or not 3G?

We are just past halfway through the 60 day waiting period that Apple announced for the release of the WiFi iPad. While we don’t know everything about the device, we do know there are six different models split in half by a single feature: a GSM 3G cellular radio for data only. In the last 30 days, the first question many people have asked is “Are you going to get an iPad?” But if the answer is yes, the second question is almost always “Are you going to get the 3G?” The choice is tough.

iPad, iPhone, and AT&T: Apple’s networking deals

At their January 27th event, Apple announced what the networking aspects of the iPad are going to be. Basically, thanks to a “breakthrough” deal with (everyone sigh with me now…) AT&T, Apple is able to offer two different prepaid accounts for the iPad. The good thing, obviously, is that no contract is required. Furthermore, 250MB of data a month will only cost $14.99, while unlimited is just $29.99, and there is also free use at any of AT&T’s wifi hotspots. Furthermore, it can just be activated straight on the iPad as you want it with no hassle required at cellular network stores.
