The developers behind Tweetbot—a Twitter client for iOS that is a favorite among many—bring some exciting news with the release of version 2.0 of its iPhone/iPod touch client and the initial release of its iPad client. Tapbots’ Tweetbot 2.0 brings with it some new features and improvements for the mobile Twitter client, while Tweetbot for iPad brings the app onto Apple’s tablet in a way that iPad owners will surely appreciate.

A privacy concern over iOS app Path uploading users’ address book contact information to its server has caused the developers to take action and explain why it has done so. Dave Morin, CEO of Path, has apologized today for his company’s actions in this matter, and assured users within his apology that Path is committed to protecting its users’ privacy.

Apple has silently issued an update to their newly released iBooks 2 iOS application, bringing the software to v2.0.1. The update fixes a major bug which prevented iBooks Textbooks from opening within the application, causing a failure to play that left plenty of users unable to view the contents of the books. Apple quickly addressed the issue, bringing improved stability and software enhancements to iBooks 2.

Ah, Presidential elections, right? Nothing brings out that best in our country like a bunch of old people accusing each other of being less American than they are. The company has decades of experience working closely with the world’s leading movie and television studios, and has leveraged that experience to create Avid Studio for the iPad, an app they claim is “… easy enough for first-timers, yet sophisticated enough for more advanced editors.”
