Camera Boost 2.5 improves iPad 2 camera
The iPad 2 has absolutely horrible cameras. You know what, and I know that. They’re so bad that I just tell those interested in buying the iPad 2 that it doesn’t even have a camera. Why get their hopes up? But if you find yourself occasionally having to use the iPad 2′s cameras, Interealtime would like to ease your suffering with Camera Boost 2.5.
Enhancing photos in iOS 5
In iOS 5, Apple added editing features to the Camera app on your iOS devices. The features allow you to enhance your photos without having to transfer them to iPhoto on the Mac. The Camera app now includes four basic functions: Enhance, Red-Eye removal, Rotate, and Crop. I noticed during my testing that once your enhanced image gets saved, it over-writes the original; there is no option to reset your photograph to its original state.
iPad 2: thinner, faster, with camera(s)
As if you couldn’t have guess this yourself, word on the net is that the iPad 2, which is just a few short days away from being announced, is to be thinner, have a faster processor, more RAM and at least one, if not two, cameras. What it most likely won’t have is an SD slot or a higher resolution display, despite earlier rumors. It’s not that those features are doomed forever, they just aren’t likely to happen this time around.
Rumor: iPad 2G cases hint at iPad camera
Want a hint at what we can expect from the iPad 2G? Then take a look at these cases from Y-Case Electronics Co. out of China. Called the Silicon Case for iPad 2G and TPU Case for iPad 2G, they both feature a camera hole and what may be a speaker opening, if the mockup in Engadget’s story proves accurate.
Rumor: Next iPad by June 2011 to have mini USB port and camera?
In terms of rumors, this one isn’t very exciting. According to a few analysts overseas, Apple’s next iPad will be thinner and lighter. Furthermore, it will have a camera and mini USB port as well. The first three parts of this rumor are fairly obvious. However, the last part about the mini USB port is a bit surprising. Apple hasn’t included these on any of their mobile devices, so I don’t see why they would start now.
Pano app hints at camera-based iOS devices
Looks like someone behind the Pano app for iPhone is trying to tell us something. Is there another iOS device coming with a built in camera? Is it referring to the next iPad? The update is kind of vague in its meaning. An update to support any future iOS camera-based devices could mean a lot of things, but we can’t ignore the possibility that they’re referring to an iPad camera.
Apple’s iPad ad reveals new details
As reported at Appletell, the first TV ad for Apple’s iPad made it’s TV premiere during the Oscars. And you’re probably not surprised that the story doesn’t stop there. No, we actually gained some real information about the iBookstore, how documents may be stored on the iPhone, and a little more about the rumor that just won’t die, a front facing camera.
Apple iPad has hardware for camera, just no camera
One of the biggest disappointments for me at the iPad media event was the lack of a camera. With a device that has such a large, beautiful screen, it would only make sense to me to be able to either video chat or take pictures with it (with the former being the slickest). However, it doesn’t surprise me that Apple kept the camera out of the first generation of the model. After all, they do need something “new” to have for the second gen, don’t they? Apparently so, according to images and data from Mission Repair.
What the iPad is missing
Yes, it happened, and yes, the iPad is here. And while it does have a gorgeous 9.7 inch multi touch display, it is also lacking in certain areas. For a first generation product, Apple certainly did hit the nail on the head in terms of how well the hardware was manufactured. That said, there are also certain features missing in this device.
