Macworld 2011: Sanho announces new HyperDrive Hard Drive for iPad
Sanho Corporation, the guys behind everyone’s favorite and mostly legal MacBook batteries, announced the next HyperDrive Hard Drive for iPad. No, it won’t get you into hyperspace, not unless you put some Star Wars on it at least. It’s an external hard drive made especially for the iPad. The new version will allow users to browse and transfer up to 1TB of content.
CES 2011: First Look: Airstash wireless flash drive
It works like this: on its simplest level, the Airstash is a USB to SD card adapter. You slide in a card (up to 32GB) and can drag and drop movies, photos, documents, etc. from a computer. Simple enough. Now, the really cool part is that the Airstash also creates a wireless access point, allowing you to access your files using WebDAV and HMTL 5; both open techs supported by Apple. No hacks, no workarounds.
HyperMac refreshes external batteries with iPad support
Sanho Corp., makers of HyperMac batteries, has announced its refreshing the entire line of Hypermac external MacBook batteries with iPad support. The new batteries support charging of the iPad with a higher powered USB port than previous models. And just to make the update that much sweeter, they’ll start shipping in two weeks at a price tag $30 lower than before.
Apple adds iPad Camera Connection Kit to the Apple Store
Apple finally added the last of the announced iPad accessories to the Apple Store online: the iPad Camera Connection Kit. For some reason, Apple didn’t add this accessory initially when they launched the iPad preorder page. The dock, case and keyboard were all available to be added to an iPad preorder, but the Camera Connection kit was strangely missing. Like the iPad 3G, it won’t be shipping until late April, but you can preorder the kit now for $29.
What the iPad is missing
Yes, it happened, and yes, the iPad is here. And while it does have a gorgeous 9.7 inch multi touch display, it is also lacking in certain areas. For a first generation product, Apple certainly did hit the nail on the head in terms of how well the hardware was manufactured. That said, there are also certain features missing in this device.
