Reasons why Verizon thinks they are better than the iPhone

Gizmodo has posted an interesting list supposedly from Verizon about their talking points regarding the iPhone 3G.

Jump past the break to find out why they feel they’ve got more to offer than the iPhone 3G.

iPhone 3G antennas are fine says GP

Western Sweden’s largest newspaper, Göteborgs-Posten (or The Gothenburg Post for us American’s who have no idea how to pronounce words with dots above them), says there is nothing wrong with the antenna inside of the iPhone 3G. They were curious to check out just how well the antenna actually performs, so they did.

They used a testing chamber made by a company called Bluetest. The chambers are used by cell phone manufacturers to see how well phones receive and transmit data under certain circumstances without actually needing to go into the field.

Check out their findings after the break.

Apple is going to make how many iPhone 3Gs!?

BusinessWeek is reporting on analyst predictions for next year’s iPhone 3G numbers. One of our favorite analysts Gene Munster, from Piper Jaffray, sees a very optimistic future.

Many analysts expect Apple (AAPL) to sell around 11 million iPhone 3Gs in 2008 and another 25 million in 2009. But perhaps the most optimistic forecast is from Piper Jaffray (PJC) analyst Gene Munster, who expects the company to sell 13 million this year and 45 million next year.

BusinessWeek claims to have some information that points to Apple’s plans to build over 40 million iPhone 3Gs during the next 12 months. This is actually even more iPhone 3Gs than the optimistic Munster expects Apple to sell in that time frame, 52% more.

Seven problems with the iPhone 3G

The new iPhone 3G hasn’t even been released yet, but seven problems with the new iPhone have already been pointed out by many, all of which have been based on demos and published specs of what the iPhone 3G will offer. We may get 3G and GPS, a way to connect to Microsoft Exchange, and the new App Store, but what about all of the other features that are missing from Apple’s device? Outlined after the break are the seven most prominent issues with the upcoming iPhone 3G.
