iPhone could overtake Symbian by 2010
Despite being relatively new to the competition, the iPhone is already a huge threat to the popular smart phone OS, Symbian. Despite the fact that Symbian has been around for about seven years, as opposed to the iPhone 3G’s two months on the market, iPhones may outnumber Symbian-powered phones in as little as two years.

Earlier this week, Morgan Keegan analyst Travis McCourt had some kind words about the iPhone 3G. In a note to investors, he talked about how one of the enablers of the iPhone’s sales is that it is stealing market share from smartphones.

Outlook good for Apple, according to Piper Jaffray
According to Piper Jaffray, Apple has the best financial prospects of all the companies followed by the firm. Apple, Inc. has officially been added to the Alpha List. The Alpha List is a prestigious list of the companies in the best financial situations, and with the best outlook in the near future.
According to the analysts at Piper Jaffray who put Apple on the list, the decision to add them was three-fold.

3G iPhones Already Outnumber 2.5G units?
When Steve Jobs set some lofty iPhone 3G sales goals, some said it couldn’t be done. Well, to the naysayers dismay, it looks as though Apple is well on its way to its goals, and then some. With the original iPhone selling 6 million units in the first year, it seems as though Apple may pass that mark after about a month and a half.
According to recent reports, anonymous sources claim that the main assembler of the phones, Foxconn, is pumping out iPhones to the tune of 800,000 per week. Also in the tip were rumors of Foxconn increasing that output in the near future. Now, if you do the math, the iPhone 3G should have passed the 6 million mark within the week.
