Until now, there have been guesstimates of how many iPhone 3G Ss were sold on its launch day this year. Apple and AT&T have been keeping quite, and we do know that the devices are being sold out around the globe. However, after seeing a recent memo leaked to MacDailyNews, it appears as if the sales were of great quantities.

In just three days, from Friday to Sunday, Apple is reporting that over one million iPhone 3G Ss have been sold. Not only is that outstanding for a hardware update that offers only two real benefits (camera and improved processor/RAM), it is outstanding in that it sold many more than the Palm Pre on its opening weekend. The iPhone hardware update beat out the first run of the Palm Pre. Sure, the iPhone has had more time in the market, but the Pre was supposed to be highly anticipated. It doesn’t seem as if that it true anymore.
