The iPhone 4 is set to go on sale Thursday, June 24th. This was also the day that those fortunate enough to get their iPhone pre-orders in before they sold out were to receive their new devices. If FedEx is to be believed, that’s still the case. However, I received an e-mail from Apple this morning stating that my new phone will, in fact, be arriving on Wednesday, June 23rd.

Apple’s online retail store came back up at about 8:45 a.m. EDT this morning after the traditional downtime before a new product release. The site is painfully slow right now, so don’t be surprised if your session times out while waiting to get to the next screen in the ordering process. Phone sales are equally busy…I had to dial about 15 times before I got through, and have now been on hold for five and counting.

Pre-orders for iPhone 4 start tomorrow, and demand will likely be high. That means you should figure out where, when and how you’ll be getting your hands on the next generation iPhone.
