The worst thing about iDevice gaming, of course, is holding the iPhone or iPod touch. They’re just not designed for a comfortable grip, and most cases only exacerbate the problem for prolonged gaming sessions. But not the PowerSkin. It not only provides a more ergonomic hold, it also extends your gaming time by up to 10 hours…for those really long sessions with Zenonia 3, I guess.

The first thing I did with my iPhone was put it in a case. While I admired it’s design, I was more interested in using apps and even more worried about dropping it and shattering the glass. So, when I got the Cushi soft form pad to review, I was walking around like a nervous parent for days, always worried something terrible was going to happen to my baby. It’s only slightly thicker than the Uncommon Capsule Case but it feels both bigger and lighter, which sounds crazy, I know; how could a case make an iPhone feel lighter?

Are holsters necessary for phones? Probably not, but there’s something fun about them—the tactile, tactical feel of snapping your phone out of a belt clip, because, ya know, your phone calls are so important that you need to be able to make them at a moment’s notice. The iSkin duet is actually two products: the revoClip belt holster and the iSkin solo skin for the iPhone itself.

The Schosche kickBACK is a hard shell iPhone case (polycarbonate exterior with a shock resistant rubber interior) with a gimmick: it has a kickstand—a folding leg (on a metal hinge) that props up the iPhone in landscape mode. The case is sturdy, if a little plain. It wraps around the iPhone in one piece with the volume buttons and mute switch exposed.

I forget that my iPhone is a phone. I communicate through Twitter, Facebook, IM, text, and email so much that when the phone rings, I figure it has to be an emergency. Or my mom. But for those who need to hear a voice, say for business or for hands-free communicating while driving, the Mogo Talk XD2 for the iPhone 4 offers a great combination.

So you’re the proud owner of a new Verizon iPhone. And while its industrial design is a wonder to behold, the fact that both the front and the back are covered with breakable, breakable glass gives you pause. So, you want a case. Something unique, something you. Everyone could use a little extra battery life for the iPhone, especially if they depend on it for work and play as most people do.
