The Festive Apple – A Charlie Brown Christmas on iPhone and iPad
Loud Crow Interactive, Inc. has released an A Charlie Brown Christmas app for iPhone and iPad that turns Charles Schultz’s 1965 television special into an interactive children’s book, giving kids (and nostalgic adults) the chance to “play” Schroeder’s piano, finger-paint with the gang, go carolling with the Peanuts choir, and participate in the Spectacular Super-Colossal Neighborhood Christmas Lights and Display Contest.
The Festive Apple – White Christmas brings snow and seasonal images to iPhone
Christmas is huge in South Korea, and Korean smartphone app developer Blue Wind, in collaboration with SK Networks Internet, have created White Christmas, a free augmented reality camera app. White Christmas modifies the iPhone’s camera to display falling snow and various seasonal images in your photos. You can adjust the size or rotation of the frame to create a picture that suits you.
Last minute Christmas (and New Year’s) apps for iOS
It’s probably getting too late to do any quality Christmas shopping, but it’s never too late to download some quality Christmas apps. Here’s another roundup of recently released and updated apps to help you through the holidays, as well as to help you get organized and track your progress on those New Year’s resolutions.
Deck your iPhone with Christmas apps
Christmas is upon us, and that means plenty of gatherings with family and friends. It can often be quite a hassle (word of advice, never marry someone who’s parents live in the same town as your own…let alone the same state), but it’s also a lot of fun for many of us. I’ll admit I’m a sucker for holiday cheer, but only after I’ve had my mom’s breakfast casserole and received all of the Wii and DS games I wanted (which this year is…uh…nothing). So, how to wind down afterwards? Do people really roast chestnuts over an open fire? What if no one in your family can play piano? No carols for you! There’ll be no snow where I live, so snowmen and snowball fights are out of the question. What to do?
Well, I almost hate to suggest it, it being a commercial item and all, but isn’t the iPhone all about communication? Isn’t it supposed to bring people together? Aren’t we supposed to have fun and share each other’s company at this time of year? Yes, so here are a few suggestions for Christmas apps that can help to liven up your family gatherings and parties. Just be sure to silence the ringer when you’re at the Christmas Eve service or the movie theater on Christmas night.
