iphone disk mode
Phone Disk adds “disk mode” to iOS devices (for free!)
One of the biggest features Apple removed from iOS devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad) was Disk Mode, which let you mount your iPod on your desktop like an external drive, and copy files to and from it. But now a company has restored this feature with an application called Phone Disk, and they’re giving it away for free until the end of November. Phone Disk by Macroplant works with Mac OS X 10.5 (or better) on Intel chips and Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7.
iPhone Appidemic: Air Sharing
One of the most-missed features of the iPhone/iPod touch is Disk Mode, which allowed you to store files on your iPod, using it as an external hard drive. Air Sharing not only lets you use your device as a storage disk, but does it wirelessly, meaning you can use it as a file server to share the files you want on a local network. Air Sharing turns on disk storage mode for your iDevice…while the app is running.
Appletell reviews Clip2Mobile for iPhone, iPod touch
Clip2Mobile is a program that lets you wirelessly send text and files (including pdfs, video, and music) between your home computer and your iPhone/iPod touch. Now this is a dead useful thing to do, especially since Apple has gone out if its way to not implement such features. Hey, does anyone else feel that iPhone ownership is kind of like being in a bad relationship?
