breffo Spiderpodium iPhone stand review

Arachnophobes need not apply, but if you can get past the slightly weird…legginess…of breffo’s Spiderpodium, it is one of the most bendable, versatile, and all-around useful iDevice holder/stand/dock combos ever seen. Unlike more complicated systems that have a separate dock on top of a bendable stand, the Spiderpodium forces the user to be more creative, and of course its six legs are better than the competition’s three.

TRON Light Disc Audio Dock by Monster review

Monster has been known to make some bold decisions with their speaker and headphone lines, but the TRON Light Disc Audio Dock is one I really have to question. I mean, I get the coolness factor. Although I was largely disappointed by TRON: Legacy, I remain a fan of the franchise. I’m also a big fan of great sounding audio. Monster combines the two with stunning results here, but will many besides me really care?

Gift idea: Apple updates Universal Dock with Apple remote, more

Apple has quietly updated their Universal Dock product in the Apple Store. Instead of containing just the dock and various different device connectors, the product now comes with Apple’s $19 aluminum remote, as well as an extra USB cord and wall charger. Furthermore, the connectors in the current product are molded to fit any of the following Apple products: iPhone 4/3GS/3G, second-, third-, and fourth-generation iPod touch, and the fifth-generation iPod nano. All that said, Apple has also raised the price from $49 to $59.

Appletell reviews the reviveLITE II Docking Charger for iPhone/iPod

The main feature I look for in an iPhone dock is just how far out of the way it can get. I don’t connect my iPhone to my MacBook by habit, but rather just when I’m syncing. The charge can happen overnight, and that’s what makes Scosche’s reviveLITE II – Docking Travel Charger for iPod & iPhone such a great solution. You plug it into a wall outlet, flip open the front, dock your iPhone or iPod, and head off to bed. Good night.

Appletell reviews the iA5 app-enhanced alarm clock from iHome

The iA5 is a somewhat unattractive but sturdy alarm clock that comes with nearly everything you’d expect to be included on such a device. Snooze, battery backup, alarm, sleep timer, etc. But when you dock it with your iPhone or iPod touch and launch the iHome+Sleep app, you suddenly get features you wouldn’t have imagined an alarm clock could deliver…and some you’ll wonder why anyone would want.

Appletell reviews iHome iP9 dual alarm clock radio

The iHome iP9 is a dual alarm clock radio and iPod speaker dock unit that does everything you’d expect based on that description. It will play your iPod’s music, the radio and auxiliary audio, and it will do all of this for you in the wee hours of the morning we love so very dearly. What really sets iP9 apart from its competitors is the level of detail and quality that iHome put into this product.

Appletell reviews the Griffin AirCurve for iPhone (video)

Remember those infomercials that were all over the place when Bose released its Wave music system? Herbie Hancock was in them, talking about what amazing sound they got, and you knew it didn’t make a difference because only Herbie Hancock could afford them? Well, if you remember the explanation of why the system got such excellent sound, then you kind of get what’s going on in Griffin’s AirCurve acoustic amplification system for the iPhone.

Apple keyboard concept with iPhone Dock

Think it’s time for Apple to update their keyboard design? Here’s a cool idea from a writer at Blosmo.com. Based on the Apple keyboard, this new concept design would feature a dock for your iPhone or iPod Touch that synchronizes with iTunes as well as charging your device. Your iPhone or iPod Touch would lie flat to the right of the keyboard, next to six OLED keys. These keys would be programable to control various tasks, most suitably opening your favorite applications or websites. This is very similar to the Optimus Maximus Aux keyboard first seen back in 2008, featuring OLED keys for every button on the keyboard, offering full customization. The keyboard would come with software you would use to control what is displayed and controlled by the extra OLED keys—imilar to keyboard shortcuts, but without the need for two keys and with the added bonus of a pretty picture!

iPhone 3G won’t come with a dock, let alone fit the old one

Remember last week when we found out that the iPhone 3G won’t fit the dock that came with the original iPhone? Yeah, well that’s beginning to look even worse. According to the Sidney Herald, the iPhone 3G won’t even come with a dock of its own. This means you are going to have to fork more »
