While the release of the 2.1 OS for iPhone has met with general praise, some users are reporting problems, including decreased battery life, inability to install the update, and the dreaded “bricking” of the iPhone. A recent Apple patent filing found by AppleInsider hints that Apple could be working on a feature that would warn iPhone users when they are about to lose a cellular of wifi signal. It would work by giving either a vibrational or audible warning only when the loss of signal would effect the end user. more »
