iPhone Appidemic: Aiko Island Holidays

Aiko Island Holidays

Aiko Island Holiday sets the reds slip slidin’ away. What is it? While I’m not entirely sure what an Aiko is, they come in blue fuzzy and red fuzzy varieties. The goal of the game is to eliminate the red Aikos and preserve the blue Aikos. Sounds simple, right? The game play is a progressively more »

iPhone Appidemic: Christmas Mansion

The actual game is a match three (or more) grid. The theme, not surprisingly, is Christmas. The tiles you match are images of candy canes, red “Santa” hats, gingerbread men, Christmas tree ornaments, etc. Match three in a row to make the coins drop to the bottom so you can collect them to spend on upgrades to the scene of sylvan Christmas tranquility.

iPhone Appidemic: Samurai Bloodshow

Samurai Bloodshow will show blood, Samurai. SEGA brings you Samurai warfare for the really small screen. Samurai Bloodshow is a combat strategy game set in feudal Japan. Arrange your defenses on the field of battle then show your mettle against the oncoming hordes. Well, it isn’t exactly hordes, really more like two or three at a time at the lower levels.

iPhone Appidemic: Utopia Island

Smashing things. Everyone loves doing it. Especially when those things are gophers or awful monsters that look like they want to eat you for dinner. However, thanks to the advent of technology, you don’t have to go to the local arcade and pay $.50 a pop to do it anymore. You can do it on your iPhone from the comfort of your own home. Unfortunately, your home probably won’t give you tickets to redeem for awesome toys.

iPhone Appidemic: Zombie Crisis 3D

By this point in time, it’s pretty safe to assume that one day zombies will take over the world as we know it, leaving us to use whatever resources we have to stay alive. While our iPhone and fancy devices may be useless when the zombies take over the cell towers and destroy the networks, at least we’ll be able to use them to practice killing zombies. In fact, there are so many zombie killing games for practice that we shouldn’t even be afraid of zombies.

iPhone Appidemic: You Snooze, You Lose!

Sometimes, the weather can be a drag; so much so that it can cause us to be late to work, miss important meetings, or just flat out put us in a bad mood. You Snooze, You Lose is an iPhone game where the weather does similar things. The only difference is that if you lose at this game, it’s not really a big deal. If you’re late to actual work, you might have something other than your pride to worry about.

How Apple’s foray into social networking will rock…in a few years

With the release of Game Center in iOS 4.1 and Ping in iTunes 10, there’s no doubt that Apple is starting its foray into social networking. Sure, Apple has included Facebook and Twitter integration in a limited way in iTunes before, but now the company is actually creating social networks of their own. However, they won’t be able to ride on the backs of the millions of iTunes users for long; they’re going to need to give us a reason to stay.

iPhone Appidemic: Shining Force

In Shining Force, you create a character and battle through various locations with him. It’s been emulated from the SEGA Genesis on which it originated, and it’s one of many SEGA games to come to the iPhone. As such, the graphics aren’t nearly what you’ve come to expect from games made for the iPhone. Either way, whether it’s nostalgia or the idea of a new storyline to conquer, this game certainly is interesting.

Appletell reviews Switchword for iPhone and iPad

Switchword is pretty simple yet challenging, as it involves strategy and not just your typical form-the-most-complex-word-and-you-win type of approach. East of the Web, the game’s creator, wants you to exercise your brain. As such, Switchword combines strategy, word knowledge and puzzle solving skills. The objective of the game is for you to capture your opponent’s squares by forming words while preventing your words from being taken by your opponent.
